Singapore surprised us when we visited with our two infants. We visited Singapore over 5 years ago as a couple with no kids and we fell in love with the city, however travelling back to some of these places in Asia with infants really lets you see places in a completely different light. It is a busy city, but one which made us feel safe and welcome with children. These are are top things to do when travelling to Singapore as a family.
🐼 Singapore Zoo
We loved it here and definitely recommend this to anyone heading to Singapore. Just beware of the wandering monkeys, they can steal your things or bite while searching for food and we found them located at the children’s area around lunchtime. We ordered a taxi to take us from our hotel and then got a Grab back from the Zoo when we were finished. They also have River wonders next door which has PANDAS! We managed both parks in one day.
🌸 Gardens By the bay (children’s playground)
Another activity that we did not do previously but visited this time. We loved it and it’s FREE! Also, Gardens by the bay in general is a whole day out and incredible. The kids can run and explore and there is an abundance of paid/free activities. Make sure you check out Jurassic nest food hall if you have a dinosaur lover/foodie in your family (The food is good here with lots of options).
🪐 Universal Studios
If you have children that love theme parks, @universalstudiossingapore is great and not huge so you can see everything in a day. Just bear in mind if you have children under 80cm there is not a lot for them. We didn’t go on this trip because our youngest wouldn’t have been able to go on any of the rides, and there was around 3 rides our toddler could have done due to his height. It was Chinese new year when we visited Singapore which meant it was extremely busy 🙈.
🐠 S.E.A Aquarium
An incredible aquarium located on Sentosa island next door to Universal. It’s nice and cool if you want to take a break from the heat and there is so much to see and do. Our children both love the sensory overload of aquariums and learning about all the animals.
💦 Splash parks
A lot of places/malls in Singapore have something like fountains or splash areas for kids to play and cool off from the heat. It is one of the reasons we loved it there so much as our kids love a good splash and most of them are free. It’s also a great time to let them socialise with other children which is something that is not always possible when travelling with kids. We went to the one in VivoCity frequently during our visit as it was just across the road from our hotel.
