Summer 2019 Road trip – VW California Ocean
Switzerland was always a country we had both wanted to visit and what better way to visit then to road trip in our VW California Ocean. I have included a map below which shows our camp spots and points of interest for our 2 weeks road trip. The points of interest are based on our personal interests and will very likely vary from you. There is also much more to see and do in Switzerland but during our short visit we had to narrow things down. We will be back.

Free Camping in Switzerland
The rules and restrictions for wild/free camping in Switzerland have increased over the last few years since we visited. According to sources across the web, in some municipalities you are not legally allowed to park anywhere and sleep in your van and you will need to find paid campsites or designated areas for motorhomes or caravans but in others it is tolerated. Van life is legal, It just takes a little more planning so please do your research before you visit and stay respectful.
When we were visiting, we used Park4night to find some well rated free spots and we also stayed in paid campsites. You can see them in the map below but be aware some of them may not be suitable/tolerated anymore.
